Puzzles make great present for those hard to buy people - particularly men. Buying a puzzle will give them a few hours or maybe days of pleasure - rather than a new pair of novelty socks that goes into a drawer never to be seen again.

Some puzzles have traditionally been given as wedding presents - a puzzle ring for instance was given to a bride in Eastern countries - to make sure she never took it off.

You could also give one of the heart shaped puzzles to a loved one, or even the breathaliser with a nice bottle of wine in it.

Traditionally certain materials are assosciated with different anniversaries - silver, gold, ruby are perhaps the best know, but a number of the earlier anniversaries have more common meterials;

5th - Wood - lots of wooden puzzles

6th - Iron - check out the Tavern puzzles for some nice examples

8th - Bronze - not quite bronze but the cast puzzles have a look of bronze and are much cheaper

11th - steel - some of the Metal puzzles are made from steel

We have a number of collections that make ideal starter set for puzzle collectors. If you would like a set of puzzle made up from the Trench puzzles, then let me know and I will try and pick a suitable set up to a given value.

Kids

Kids love puzzle, but sometimes they can contan small parts, so the small wire puzles, mini puzlzes etc may not be suitable for very young children - please ask if you are in any doubt. Having said that a collection of puzzle will keep most children occupied for some time, and they also enjoy showing others how to do them, once they have solved them. The Tantrix are particularly good as they contain a number of challenges, and can be added to to make up games.

The books sections has 4 books that contain cut out and make items. Whilst not puzzles as such, they do help children appreciate mathematical shapes and are great fun for the adults too.

Table Gifts

Having a party, then why not buy some of the Mini Puzzles for the table. These have full instructions and once one has been solved they can be passed around. They come in small boxes which could be wrapped.

As wedding favours, puzzles are an ideal choice. They can be fairly small, give the younger generations something to do whilst the adults chat, and are fairly inexpensive. Popular choices are the Mini puzzles, wire puzzles, some of the cast metal puzzles, and the tantrix sets.
